Christine "Chris" Lee Garner

Christine “Chris” Lee Garner, 69, our beloved crossed the river on Monday, June 13, 2016.

She was born in Watervliet, MI on September 9, 1946 to the late Charles and Flora Selters Phillips. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Candice Johnson, and a grandson, Robert Johnson Jr.

Mrs. Garner spent most of her adult life living in Jonesboro in which began her early career as an elementary school teacher, and then later on to retired from KAIT as an advertising executive. She loved spending time with her family and friends, shopping, traveling, and riding on a motorcycle. She loved life and people. She had never met a stranger.

Left to cherish her memories include her husband, Kenneth; a brother, Thomas (Jeanette) Phillips; children, Elizabeth Henson, Virginia (Leonard) Doan, Timothy (Elizabeth) Gibson, Kevin White, Robin (Dan) Tong, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
