Chlorita Cox, 86, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born to the late Ite and Mattie Perry on August 9, 1939 in Balch, Arkansas.

Chlorita was a faithful member of Walnut Street Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending. She attended college in Memphis where she studied secretarial work. She worked for a short time as a secretary, but devoted much of her life to raising her two daughters and helping on the family farm.

She enjoyed sewing and was known as a wonderful cook. Chlorita was also very creative and loved making flower arrangements and crafts. More than anything, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, whether it was fishing, playing board games, or simply making special memories together. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did.

In addition to her parents, Chlorita is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Cox; sister, Gloria Swartz; and sisters-in-law, Arnita Reed, Goldine Templeton, and JoAnn Davis.

Chlorita is survived by her daughters, Debbie West (Darrell) of Jonesboro and Andrea McAdams (Scott) of Jonesboro; sister, Shirley Addington (Carroll) of Marion; sister-in-law, Joyce Griffin; grandchildren, Hillary Gould, Chris McAdams (Courtney), and Matt McAdams; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

The visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Emerson Funeral Home with the funeral following at 10:30 a.m. with Ferrel Duffel officiating. The burial will follow at Waldenburg Cemetery.
