Charlotte Sulcer Alexander died peacefully Sunday, February 19, 2023 with her family by her side after battling with Parkinson’s disease.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Bert and Mariella Sulcer and her brother Bert Sulcer Jr. She is survived by her son, Bert Alexander; two daughters, Angela (Ike) Horner and Mary Spencer Alexander (Nick Ingram) all of Jonesboro; brother, John (Phyllis) Sulcer of Fort Smith; sister, Susanne (Bill) Pollard of Paragould; and three grandchildren, Spencer Horner, Alexandra Horner, and Henry Ingram.
Charlotte was born March 16 th , 1942 in Memphis, TN, spent her early life in Palestine, AR, and attended Forrest City High School as well as Lausanne in Memphis where she graduated. She went on to attend the University of Arkansas. There she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
She moved to Osceola where she raised her family. She was an English teacher at the Osceola Middle School and later the Librarian after completing her Masters at the University of Central Arkansas. She was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church, the Junior Auxiliary and enjoyed bridge with her friends.
She was best known as G to her grandchildren and all their friends and family. After retirement, she moved to Jonesboro to be closer to them. While in Jonesboro she became a member of Central Baptist Church. She volunteered at AWANAS and her grandchildren’s school where needed. She was a devoted grandmother and was always ready to help with any and all activities in which her grandchildren participated. She was so proud of the young adults that Spencer and Alex had grown into. And she cherished her time spent with Henry. While we celebrate the full life that she lived, we will miss her everyday.
A visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Emerson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 1 pm Friday, February 24, 2023 at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City with Jay Jacobs of Central Baptist officiating.
