Charles Adam Remaklus III, 78, of Jonesboro, passed away at St. Bernards Medical Center on December 26, 2024. He was born in Memphis, TN, on August 26, 1946, to the late Charles Adam Jr. and Helen Jarrett.
Charles grew up in Memphis, graduating from Central High School in 1964. He then graduated from Memphis State University in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in biology. Charles went on to get his cytology certification at the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis. He moved to Jonesboro in 1971 to begin working at Doctors Anatomic Pathology Services until his retirement in 2014.
He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis. He was a fan of the University of Memphis athletics, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Memphis Grizzlies. He loved watching old movies on TCM, such as Casablanca and The Great Escape.
Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Georgia Regina Bailey Remaklus; a daughter, Miranda Remaklus of Jonesboro; two sisters, Mary Ann Ready of Richmond, VA, and Carole Wicker of Sherwood, AR; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Emerson Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service at 1 p.m.
