Charles Michael Porter

July 25, 1994 — May 24, 2009

Charles Michael Porter, 14, of Jonesboro, died Sunday evening. He was born in Kingman, Arizona and had lived here since 2000. He was an eighth grade student at Annie Camp Junior High. He loved skateboarding, cooking, sewing, art, and sports, especially basketball. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother and step father, Brandy Porter & Michael Micheli; brothers, Zachary Porter, Raymond Wright; grandparents, Scott Porter, Sr., Louise Byard; step grandfather, K. Dale Mattix; great grandfather, Ken Pierce; uncles and aunts, Jimmy & April Mort, Bobby & Jennifer Batson, Samantha Porter, Donny Mort, Scott Porter, Jr.; great aunt and uncle, Ruthie & Robert Snyder III; cousins, Valerie Spence, Daniel Soulé, Faith, Hope, and Dylan Mort; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Rebecca Batson, Al Porter, Patricia Pierce; and his step grandfather, Robert Byard.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Gary Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Dave Johnson, Daniel Soulé, Scott Porter, Donny Mort, Bobby Batson, and Sammy Jones.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
