Charles “Chuck” Phipps Sr., 60 of Jonesboro died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born in Warren Ohio and had lived in Jonesboro for three years, moving here from Hardy, Arkansas. He had lived in Hardy since 1990, moving there from Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and was employed for 23 years with Prudential Insurance Company. He was a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and served as president of his local insurance union. As an avid bowler, he bowled a 300 perfect game and also coached numerous softball teams, leading many to state championships.
He was the youth director of the South Pymatuning Community Church and the Hubbard Nazarene Church. He was a graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage PA and was the owner of Exercise: For a Better Life in Hardy, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Zenneth Phipps and his mother and step-father George Evans and Dorothy Evans Pajank.

Daughter and son-in-law Charalyn “Chari” and Stephen Twigg, Jonesboro,
6 grandchildren
A memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene in Jonesboro with Pastor Ken Stallings officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
