Charles O'Dell Parker

Mr. Charles O’dell Parker, 81, a lifetime resident of Jonesboro, departed this life on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born January 12, 1941 to the late Marshall and Dorothy Parker.

He is survived by; one daughter, Angela (Mark) Roberts of Kennesaw, GA; two sons, Roger Parker of Dozier, AL, Charles “Bud” Parker of Jonesboro; six sisters, Barbara (Roy) Hendrix, Thelma Porter, Deborah Brooks, Sharon Vernor, and Cathy (David) Ezell, Mary Bagwell; one brother, Jimmy Parker; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Charles is preceded in death by; one son, Allen Parker; four brothers, Dub Parker, Daniel Parker, Gerald Parker, David Parker; and three sisters, Laverne Melton, Carol Walker, and Doris Benton.

Charles worked several years at Craighead Rice Milling Company. He loved to garden (especially his tomatoes), enjoyed his beautiful roses, collecting Indian artifacts, he had a huge coin collection, loved taking care of his cats, spending time sitting on the front porch, and spending time with his family.
