Charles Edward Onstead

Charles Edward Onstead, 80, of Jonesboro passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was born to the late Paul Edward and Rosale Carter Onstead on January 9, 1941 in Jonesboro.

Charles was a member of Valley View Church of Christ. Following his highschool graduation, Charles joined the United States Army. Afterward Charles started his own business, MTS/JGS Induserve Supply until his retirement five years ago.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his late wife, Lavita Gartman Onstead; daughter, Sheila Dunlap; granddaughter, Maegan Dunlap; Step-son, Rodney Gray; brother-in-law, Richard Collins; and niece, Lavita Collins Walker.

Charles is survived by his wife, Ernestine Onstead of the home; son, David (Holly) Onstead; son-in-law, Rodney Dunlap; sister, Betty Collins; grandsons, Cody (Casey) Onstead, Tyler (Sherry) Dunlap; 2 great-grandsons, Brody and Brooks Onstead; nieces, Carol Brooks Smithson and Melissa Mabe; and many other family and friends that were dear to his heart.

A visitation will be from 1-2 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will follow at 2pm Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. Spencer Furby officiating.
