Charles O. Ross, 93, of Jonesboro died Monday June 16, 2014 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born in Marmaduke, Arkansas on June 4, 1921 to the late Charles Ira and Mamie Smith Ross. He had lived in Jonesboro most of his life and was a retired Jonesboro High School teacher, Founder and Director of the Cotton Bowl Technical Institute in Burdette and South West Technical Institute in Camden. Charles was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the Southwest Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Edwin Hale and Robert Ross.
Survived by his loving wife; Mary Katherine Ross of the home.
Son; Charles Richard (Dickie) Ross and wife Lynn of Louisville, Kentucky.
Daughter; Kay Sloan and husband Larry of Jonesboro.
4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday June 19, 2014 at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Adcox officiating. Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Wednesday June 18, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Southwest Church of Christ, 1601 James Street, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
