Charles Edward Nance Jr.

Charles Edward Nance Jr., 68, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Baptist East in Memphis.  He had lived in Jonesboro for 24 years, moving here from Bay. He was born in Torrance, California on November 18, 1954, to Charles and Betty Nance Sr. He was of the Church of Christ belief.  As the owner/operator of S & C Nance Heating and Cooling, he serviced many customers in Northeast Arkansas.  He was an avid golfer, but he loved pheasant hunting and trout fishing.  Spending time with his family was always a pleasure, but he loved being with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Troy and Edith Cole; Emerson and Eula Smith; Henry Albert and Elinor Nance; brothers, Albert Nance Sr., Troy Lee Nance, Guy Spencer his father-in-law; sister-in-law, Becky Spencer; nieces, Teresa Beary and McKenzie Beary.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sharon Nance of the home.  Sharon commented they met in the first grade.  Sons; Ricky Loyd and wife, Keatra of Paragould; daughter, Christi Partain and Jeff Womack of Colt, Arkansas; brothers, Carl Nance of Jonesboro; Gary Nance and Tommy Nance and his wife, Karen of Canton, Texas; sisters, Betty Dotter and husband Donald of Jonesboro; Norma Jones and husband, Steve of Lancaster, Texas; Brenda Ezzell of Lees Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Colton Willis, Austin Willis and Caden Loyd and wife Jade.

Funeral services will be 2:00 Friday, July 28, 2023, at the Brookland Church of Christ with Kevin Edgar officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Carl Nance, Gary Nance, Tommy Nance, Dean Boyd, Robbie Spencer and Gaylon McDaniel serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be 5:00 -7:00 PM Thursday night at Brookland Church of Christ Church.
