Charles Edward Mears

Charles Edward Mears, 82, of Powhatan died Monday, April 25, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was born in Midland, Indiana and had lived in Powhatan since 1992, moving here from Oxnard, California. He was a retired supervisor for the Pleasant Valley School District and of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mears, parents Herman and Ruth Rogers Mears.

Survived by two daughters, Deborah Parker and husband Don of Jonesboro, and Jenny Klein and husband Ronald of Tehachapi, California.

Brother, Herman Mears Jr. of South Bend, Indiana.

Three Sisters, Betty Blume and Margy Pinkowski both of South Bend, Indiana, and O’ Detta Wesolek of Lansing, Michigan.

Five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
There will be no visitation.
