Charles "Ping" Mccrackin

Charles “Ping” McCrackin, 78, of Jonesboro passed from this life Friday, January 31, 2014 at his home. Charles was born September 9, 1935 in Trumann to the late Luther and Polly McCrackin. He spent most of his life residing here in Jonesboro. Charles was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, farming and loved watching sports. Charles also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years Wanda Lee McCrackin, his parents, and one brother: Emmett “Duck” McCrackin.

Charles is survived by one son: Tony McCrackin of Cedar Hill, TX; one daughter: Stephanie Preston (Jeff) of Bono; one sister: Anna Lou Slaven (Ronnie) of Bono; five grandchildren: Amber McCrackin ( U.S Navy, stationed in Japan), Ashley Bridges, Aaron McCrackin, Zac Preston, Cody Preston; great granddaughter: Jayden Bridges; sister in law: Sue McCrackin.

Services will be 10 A.M. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Wendell King officiating. Pallbearers will include all nephews.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 5-7 Monday, February 3, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home.
