Charles V. Mcclure

Charles V. McClure went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 6, 2014. He was born in Augusta, Arkansas on September 6, 1930 to Russell Price McClure and Emmer May (Simpson) McClure. Charles had one son, Victor Ray McClure.

Charles was married to Opal Rae (McGee) McClure on July 15, 1961 in Santa Clara, California. He lived in Santa Clara, California with his wife Opal Rae of eight years. Opal was taken to the Lord August 1969 suddenly.

Charles was a Security Guard at Xerox Corporation in Santa Clara, California. Charles moved to Arkansas to be close to his brother Alvis McClure.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Russell McClure and his mother Emmer May (Simpson) McClure; his wife Opal Rae (McGee) McClure, his brother Alvis McClure, and Kenneth McClure.

Charles was a member of North Main Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He loved his God and Savior and enjoyed church service. His favorite songs were - Were You There and Some Call It Heaven.

He was a member of the American Legion, and was a veteran of the Army. He was proud that he served his Country and looked forward to when Carl Mosby of (VFW) the Veterans of Foreign War came to visit him.

The last seven years of Charles life he resided at Ridgecrest Health and Rehabilitation in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He loved Country music along with Christian Hymns. He was an avid bingo player at the nursing home. He loved to sing on Sunday Church Service. Charles enjoyed the day room where he would sit for several hours a day.

A graveside celebration of his life will be on February 13, 2014, at 10:00AM, in Pine Log Cemetery, with Pastor Gary Brown officiating, and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jim Coleman, Ladell Butts, Paul Davison, Pastor Gary Brown, Chas Yahnke, and Winston Lovelace.
