Charles “Charlie” Edward Guntharp, 61, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, March 10, 2019, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He had lived most of his life in Jonesboro. Charlie was of the Baptist belief. He was an accomplished football player when he was in high school. He later served his country in the US Army. Charlie’s favorite collegiate football team was the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a roofer by trade and owned his own roofing company. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
Survivors include his son, Wesley Guntharp (Cheynne) of Liverpool, Texas; brother, Bryan Guntharp of Atlanta; sisters, Sherry Walston of Atlanta, Georgia; Cindy McQuay (Mike) and Carolyn Parson (Max) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Bailey Guntharp and Alicia Guntharp.
A memorial service will be 6:00 PM Thursday night at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jim Guntharp officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until service time. Burial will be private.
