Aubrey Charles Gregg, 65, of Jonesboro, passed away on December 9, 2023, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born on January 31, 1958, to the late Charles and Wanda Gregg in Jonesboro, he spent the majority of his life here.
Charlie, as he was fondly known, was an active member of First Methodist Church and Breaking Bonds Ministries, where he dedicated himself to serving others. He played a vital role in Jail Ministry and served as the Chaplain at the Craighead County Detention Center guiding individuals through recovery and helping them find Christ.
Beyond his spiritual commitments, Charlie had a passion for late model cars, appreciating the craftsmanship and innovation that went into each one. He loved boxing, stock car racing and his dog. Charlie loved the Arkansas Razorbacks, Memphis Grizzlies and the Dallas Cowboys. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his children and experiencing the freedom of the open road on his motorcycles.
Charlie was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim Potter and Meb (Susie) Gregg, and sister, Sue Throgmartin. He is survived by the love of his life, Misty Gregg, of the home; a son, Charles Dylan Gregg of Jonesboro; a daughter, Whitney (Hunter) Harrison of Jonesboro; a brother, Ed (Maria) Potter of Leasburg, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and a vast circle of friends.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Emerson Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm officiated by Brother John Miles. Honorary pallbearers will include Scott Gipson, Storm Throgmartin, Kadin Fair, Sarge Cook, Sam Oneal, Barry Martin, Kevin King, David Bailey and Nathan Coleman.
Online condolences and memories can be shared on the memorial registry at www.emersonfuneralhome.com.
Aubrey Charles Gregg's legacy of faith, compassion, and love will be forever cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was truly one of a kind and could make anyone laugh. He was quite the jokester. Charlie’s ability to light up a room and lead others to Christ through his testimony will never be forgotten.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
