Charles "Dooger" Deatherage

March 19, 1945 — October 12, 2015

Charles “Dooger” William Deatherage, 70, of Jonesboro, passed away on Monday October 12, 2015 at his home. He was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on March 19, 1945 to the late Tillman Edward and Gladys Laverne Keith Deatherage. He lived in Jonesboro since 1963, moving here from Egypt, Arkansas. He was a cabinet installer and a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister; Patricia Foster.

Survived by his wife; Sherry Deatherage of the home.

Sons; Michael Deatherage and wife Amy of Paragould, Arkansas and Jason Deatherage of Brookland.

Daughter; Trisha Merritt and husband Dewayne of Jonesboro.

Sister; Deborah Kingston and husband Mike of Jonesboro.

7 grandchildren; Maegan Broadaway (Jeff), Dakota Byard, Jenna Deatherage, Austin Deatherage, Bella Deatherage, Lucas Deatherage and Hallie Deatherage. 2 great grandchildren; Emma and Jacob Broadaway.

Funeral service will be held at 10.00 A.M. on Thursday October 15, 2015 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Revs; Roger Tidwell and Bobby Cole officiating. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Wednesday October 14, 2015 at Emerson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Make A Wish Midsouth/Arkansas, 1780 Moriah Woods Blvd, Memphis, Tenn. 38117.
