Charles Cooper

March 6, 1929 — January 10, 2007

Charles “Chuck” Leo Cooper, 77, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at his home. He was born in Jonesboro and lived in California for many years before returning to Jonesboro in 1992. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Aden Cooper and Rollie Brust Taylor Cooper; three brothers, Junior Lee Cooper, Frank F. Taylor and Barnie W. Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Cooper, of the home; two sons, David G. Cooper of Carson City, Nevada and Dennis L. Cooper of Fernley, Nevada. Also surviving are two daughters, Deborah K. Cooper, of Hayward, California and Ramona S. Hosman of Tracy, California; one brother, James M. Cooper, Cheyenne, Wyoming; one sister, Essie L. Zeitler of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with burial to be private and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
