Charles Clifton Camp

Charles C. Camp, 71, of Little Rock passed away on Monday morning at the home of his sister, Teresa Rosse, of Jonesboro, after a brief illness. He was born April 6th, 1937 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Richard V. and Verene Bailey Camp. After graduating from Poplar Bluff High School, he received a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas State College in Jonesboro. He received his Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. He was also an Army veteran. He was retired as a government employee of the State of Arkansas where he worked in Medicaid fraud after 35 years of service. He was a teacher of history and mathematics at McCollum High School and was also a counselor at the Arkansas Rehab Hospital. He enjoyed gardening, watching old movies, reading, and traveling. He will be greatly missed by three sisters, Mrs. Teresa Rosse and husband, Sam, of Jonesboro, Mrs. Mary Whitener, of Arnold, Mo, and Mrs. Margaret Crook and husband, Charles, of High Ridge, Mo.; two brothers, Mr. Tom Camp and wife, Linda, of Jonesboro, and Dr. Richard V. Camp Jr. of St. Louis, Mo.; adopted sister, Sherry Guenther, of Roland, AR.; 12 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Don Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be his nephews, Ken Curtwright, Donny Rosse, Sammy Rosse, Charles Rosse, Keith Lomax, and Michael Whitener.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Whitener, Kenneth Farrish, Brian Montgomery, Nelson Chenault, and Roy Fredrick.

Visitation will be from 1:30 until time of the service at the funeral home.
