Charles Arthur Bradsher, 88, of Jonesboro passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Craighead County Nursing Center. He was born on February 18, 1934, to Alma (Christie) and Arthur Bradsher in Trumann, Arkansas. He was a member of the Stoneridge Church of Christ in Jonesboro, AR.
Bradsher enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman Recruit on 13 AUG 53 and retired as Fire Technician Chief Senior (FTCS) on 4 SEP 73. He crossed the equator for the first time on 6 NOV 63 while on board USS Worden and was designated “Trusty Shellback”. Charles was a hardworking man and a good provider. In 1993, he retired for the second time from QuebecCorp in Jonesboro, AR.
Charles and Betty were married in 1958. During their 63-year marriage, they traveled to every state in the US, including the four corners. As they traveled, God and Church were always priorities and they made many friends at churches across the country.
Charles enjoyed working with his hands and would often surprise family and friends with something they wanted, “made by Charlie”. He collected over 3,000 pieces of Early American Pressed Glass to give to people he loved. The Bradshers always opened their home to family and friends and it was not unusual for sailors to crash on the couch when they were far away from their own homes.
