Charles L. Bowers

Charles L. Bowers, 87, of Lake City died Tuesday February 11, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Lake City on March 6, 1926 to Charles and Anna Lairson Bowers.

He had lived in Lake City most of his life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lake City, where he was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon. He was on the Lake City School Board from 1973 until 1983 and was a machine operator at General Electric. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Wanda Bowers.

Survived by his son; Charles “Chuck” Bowers of Lake City.

Brother; Vaunda Bowers of Lake City.

Sister; Marrilee Lewis of Collierville, Tenn.

Host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A. M. Friday February 14, 2014 at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private in Monette Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Friday February 14, at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
