Charles David Atherton

Dave Atherton, 65, a lifetime resident of Jonesboro, died on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Advanced Care Hospital in Searcy.  He was born on June 13, 1959, to Charles and Anita Atherton.  Dave was a 20 year member of the Jonesboro Motorcycle Association.  He loved his motorcycles and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He retired from working at Arkansas State University as a skilled trade supervisor.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his Significant Other, Jane Whetsel of the home; mother, Anita Atherton, sons, Doug McDaniel; Chris McDaniel and wife, Sara, all of Jonesboro; Dustin McDaniel and wife Tiffany of Piggott, Arkansas; sisters, Debra Sterling; Lisa Roberts and husband, Keith of Jonesboro; and several grandchildren, nieces and Nephews.

Graveside service will be Monday, 2:00 PM, December 30, 2024, at Herman Cemetery with Kyle Roberts officiating and under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home. Doug McDaniel, Chris McDaniel, Dustin McDaniel, Lathan Robinson, Garrett Roberts and Cameron Roberts will serve as pallbearers   All other services are private.
