Charlene Louise Childers

Reverend Charlene Louise Childers, 89, of Jonesboro AR passed away Saturday Nov 26 at Ridgecrest Rehabilitation Hospital in Jonesboro, AR. She was born April 28, 1927 in Houston MS. She lived most of her life in Memphis TN but has been a resident of Jonesboro for the last 10 years. She was a model for fashion magazines and designer department stores during the 1940-1950s and traveled across the nation as a top model. She was also certified in Reiki Healing and Reflexology, worked at Adult Childhood Healings, facilitated A Course in Miracles and owner and founder at Love Investigator. She loved dancing on the front porch with her husband to the Big Band Music. She will be remembered as a loving Mother and Grandmother. She will also be remembered for her lavender car and her silver pom-poms.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Auzie Myatt of Houston MS.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Leo Simpson Childers of the home. one son Chris Childers (Judy) of Jonesboro AR, two Brothers Auzie Myatt of Houston MS and Carl Myatt (Wanda) of Greensboro, NC and one sister Creely Wilson of Franklin, TN,her five Grandchildren: Hope Tyler (Zack) of Jonesboro AR, Christopher Childers of Memphis TN, Dustin Childers (Jill) of Louisville, KY, Aaron Yearta (Beth) of Jonesboro AR, Philip Yearta (Amanda) of Jonesboro AR, and eleven Great Grandchildren.

A private celebration of life for Charlene will be held at the home of her son, Chris Childers.
