Cecil Dillard Ratliff

February 23, 1930 — March 7, 2020

Cecil Dillard Ratliff, 90, of Lake City went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 7, 2020. He was born February 23, 1930 in Salem to the late William Berge and Bertha VanWinkle Ratliff. Dillard served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of the Assemblies of God faith and most recently he was attending Bethabara Baptist Church. Dillard was a lifelong Educator teaching high school and college. He received his doctoral degree from Oklahoma State University.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Uncle and Aunt who raised him, Luther and Thersie Hutcheson and their 2 sons, Julius and Owen Hutcheson; his first wife, Gertha Spurlock; second wife, Lois Berry; sister, Laura VanWinkle and 5 brothers: Avon, Orville, Norvel, William “Shorty” and Jewel Ratliff.

Survivors include his daughter, Debra DuFord, granddaughter, Rachel DuFord of Lake City and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Gregg Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with Darin Owens officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
