Carolyn Coleta Garland

Carolyn Coleta Garland, 71, of Jonesboro died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Carol was born April 29, 1942, in Newport, the daughter of the late Rufus White and Sarah Cathleen White.

Carol was the loving wife of Jerry Garland for 54 years. They shared a wonderful life together and enjoyed spending time with their family.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Edward Garland.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Garland of Jonesboro; three children, Lisa Stauber of Marion, Jeri Garland of Conway, and Jimmy Garland of Jonesboro; two brothers, Rufus White, Jr., and Monty White of Amagon; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brandon Sheridan officiating. Immediately following the services, Carol will be laid to rest at the Pennington Church Of Christ Cemetery.
