Carolyn Louise Gambill, née Norman, departed this life on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in Pensacola, Florida, at the age of 95. She was born June 12, 1930, in Jonesboro to Carroll Clem Norman and Ruth L. Pate Norman. She was also lovingly raised by her stepfather, Earl Carpenter.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family was the center of her life. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.C. Gambill, who passed away in 1989.
She is survived by her five children: Stanley Gambill and Evelyn, Robin Gambill and Tracey, Sabrina Gambill Orangio and Gregg, Jackie Gambill, and Penny Gambill.
She also leaves to cherish her memory seven grandchildren: Jessica Gambill Bridges and Ryan, Luke Gambill, Jason Gambill and Brooke, Jacquelyn Gambill Mallette and Jamie, Kimberly Gambill Roberts and James, Zachary Orangio and Asia, and Nicholas Orangio.
Carolyn was further blessed with four great-grandchildren: Lydia Juber, Callie Mallette, Annabelle Mallette, and Ellie Roberts; and three great-great-grandchildren: Grayson Juber, Atlas Juber, and Finn Juber.
A graveside service will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at Herndon Cemetery beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Carolyn will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the many lives she touched throughout her long and meaningful life. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
