Carolyn Sue Crider

April 11, 1945 — October 10, 2021

Carolyn Sue “Gammill” Crider, 76, of Jonesboro passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House. She was born April 11, 1945 in Jonesboro to the late Damon Gammill and Mary Vance. What's not to love about a woman who loved her daughters, grandchildren and great grandson immensely!  In her last year's before falling ill Carolyn enjoyed talking to her dear friends and family including a host of nieces, nephews and sister-in-law that often checked on her.  Carolyn did not text or use the computer, but she loved her phone conversations!  Carolyn enjoyed hosting get-togethers within her community of Sunset Gardens on Ecumenical Drive in Jonesboro.  She loved her apartment and decorating!  Carolyn didn't want her sleep interrupted, but other than that she loved everyone.

This woman of strength and endurance will be missed by many, but mainly her daughters.  Carolyn gave us a strength that took us a long time to understand.  We will continue that strength in honoring her and loving one another. She left this world the way she wanted when she wanted.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a daughter, SaGaye Reece and 3 brothers, Joel Gammill, Bruce Gammill and Jesse Gammill.

Survivors include her daughters, Felicia Persfull, Shellie (Doug) Butler both of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Joshua Miller of Mountain Home, Derek Cade of Nashville, Tennessee, Jessica "Princess" Armstrong of Bay; great grandchildren, Joshua "Lil Man" Miller of Mt. Home; sisters, Katherine Garrett of Nixa, Missouri, Mary Cooper of Jonesboro and a brother, Daymon Gammill, Jr. of Bay.

Her wishes will be honored by her daughters for her cremains to be buried with her daughter, SaGaye Reece at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 am.  No formalities, just those that choose to share with family in prayer and stories honoring of this pillar of strength.
