Carole Ann Eubanks

Carole Ann Eubanks, 78, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020, in her family home near Bono. She was born on October 9, 1941, in Blytheville. She was a graduate of Blytheville High School and Droughn Business College in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Monroe Brittain and Ora Lou Hilburn; 2 month old daughter, Jennifer Diane Eubanks; sister, Barbara Ryals; and by half-sister Viki Hand.

Survivors include her childhood sweetheart and loving husband, Glenn Eubanks, to whom she was married for 59 ½ years; daughters, Renee Eubanks and Julie Eubanks Plunkett (Rod) of Bono; and son, Jacob Eubanks (Heather) of Bono. She was “Nana” to her precious grandchildren Kelsey, Kirsten, Eli, Alyssa, and Hailey; half-sisters Gaye Miller (Ron) of Bernie, Missouri and Cindy Baugh (Jerry) of Sevierville, Tennessee.

Carole retired from the Social Security Administration in 1999, where she served as administrative assistant for 30 years. She received many distinguished service awards during her tenure there. Carole and Glenn enjoyed many wonderful vacations together traveling all over the United States, including camping trips with their camping club and road trips out West with family and friends. Carole always enjoyed the outdoors and considered the small observations from nature to be great blessings from God, and tried to teach her children and grandchildren the same thing. Carole was a Southern Baptist and a faithful member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. She participated in the “Tabitha Sews” group until her health became too bad to participate. In the last few years of her life, cancer claimed her energy and wellness, keeping her from doing many of her favorite things. However, she still kept her family near and dear to her heart.

Anyone that has been blessed to know Carole has described her as being a “saint”, and her children are no exception. She exemplified the meaning of a Christian woman; always showing patience, kindness, and godliness in her daily life. To say she will be missed is inadequate, for there is a missing piece in all of our hearts. Due to Covid-19, no public service will take place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
