Carmen Joan Adams

January 28, 1931 — October 24, 2020

Carmen Joan Lucas Adams passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Craighead Nursing Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on January 28, 1931, to the late Ralph and Gladys Lucas, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Carmen worked for the S. S. Kresge Company in Louisville for 40 years, first in widow design and later in sales.  She was a life-long member of Eastern Parkway Baptist Church in Louisville.

Carmen moved to Jonesboro in 2003 and enjoyed living at St. Bernards Village.  She was very artistic and loved decorating for the holidays.  She mostly loved being a Kentucky girl.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Adams, and her brother-in-law, David Chittenden.

She is survived by her sister, Ruby Chittenden; two nieces, Julie Chittenden of Aurora, Colorado and Jennifer Clack of Jonesboro; and a great niece, Madelyn Clack.

The family would like to thank the skilled and caring workers at Craighead Nursing Center for making Carmen’s life better while she lived there.

Carmen will be taken to Louisville, Kentucky, for burial at a later date.  Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
