Carma Dean May, 88, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on March 12, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born in Dexter, Missouri on June 25, 1927 to the late Frank B. and Molly Hisaw Carney. Carma Dean had lived in Jonesboro since 1965, moving here from Piggott, was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Gene, gardening and playing card games with her many friends at St. Bernards Village.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Argene May, Son, Robbie Gene May, 4 brothers, Roy, James, Ray, and Brady Carney. 5 sisters, Edna Sills, LaVeda Hopkins, Margaret Matthews, Agnes Sills and Helen Gains.
She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Adams and husband, Alton Jr., of Melbourne, Florida.
Two grandchildren, Tory Pittman and husband Mark and Alton Adams III and wife Kristen and 5 great grandchildren, Hannah Grace Adams-Lavergne, Coltin Pittman, Dale Pittman, Emma Kate Pittman and Brady Adams.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday March 15, 2016 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with her nephew Rev. John Carney officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be held from 9 to10:00 A.M. at Emerson Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Alton Adams III, Jay Cuny, Dean May, Jackie May, Terry Smith, Shannon May and Robin May.
The family would like to thank the Visiting Angels for the unwavering support, kindness, and compassion to our loved one.
