Carlen Raymond Carter Jr. of Jonesboro passed away at his home on March 24, 2025. He was born in Atchison, KS, on February 8, 1973, to Carlen Carter Sr. and the late Sherry Carter.
Carlen spent most of his life in Weston, MO, before living the last ten years in Northeast Arkansas. He graduated from West Platte High School in Weston and also attended Missouri Western State University and Park University. Carlen worked for many years at Harley-Davidson, which helped him finance his education at Park University. After Harley-Davidson closed, he accepted a job at ABB in Jonesboro. Additionally, he served as a public servant for many years, holding two terms as an alderman and eventually becoming the mayor of Weston, MO. An avid golfer and a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan, Carlen's love for sports extended beyond the NFL; he coached several youth sports for his children, including football, baseball, and basketball. Most importantly, Carlen took pride in his family and cherished his role as a proud Papa to his kids and grandkids.
Carlen is survived by his father, Carlen Carter Sr. (Barbara) of Iatan, MO; former wife Lisa Carter of Jonesboro; sons Chase Carter of Jonesboro and Ty Carter of Fort Campbell, KY; daughter Willow Carter of Jonesboro; brothers Ed Carter (Joye) of St. Mary, MO, and Ernie Carter of Atchison, KS; sister Vicky Carter-Harris (Lloyd) of Weston, MO; and grandchildren Myles and Jordyn.
