Carl David Nelson Sr.

Carl David Nelson Sr., 63, of Jonesboro died Monday July 11, 2011 near Sterling Spring community.

He was born in Rivervale, Arkansas and had lived in Jonesboro for the last 25 years. He was a diesel mechanic and a member of the Brookland Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Nelson, parents, Sidney Esco and Lena Alberta Creason Nelson, three sisters, Imogene Hardin, Betty Barrett and Nona McGee.

Survived by his sons, Billy Don Dale and Carl David Nelson Jr. and wife Carol, both of Jonesboro.

Daughters, Marie Fortenberry and husband Don and Chrystal Nelson (Eddie Greene) both of Jonesboro.

Brother, Lewis Nelson of Needham.

Sisters, Nina Cornwell of Brookland, Patricia Ann Smith of Lake City and Carol Shortnacy of Caraway.

Several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday July 14, 2011 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Bro. Larry Ward officiating. Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Wednesday July 13, at Emerson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Clay Cornwell, David Nelson and members of the Cache River Warriors.
