Carl Odell Lucy

Carl Odell Lucy, 78, passed from this life on March 17, 2023 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. Carl was born on January 25, 1945 to the late Herman and Virgie Lucy. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by Helen Reed, Mary Lee Lawson, J W Lucy, Elizabeth Linebarger, and Marie Dowling.

Carl was a good man. He married the love of his life, Kay Forsythe, on November 8, 1963 in Caruthersville, MO. For over 40 years, Carl worked as a supervisor for Bush Canning Co. in Blytheville, AR. Carl spent a lot of his time outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time in his garden. Carl and Kay were always on the go. Most importantly, Carl loved being with his family.

Carl is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kay Lucy, of the home; daughter, Melissa Farmer of Jonesboro; sons, Carl Lucy (Belinda) of Holland, MO and Robert Lucy (Elizabeth) of Gosnell, AR; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; Hedrick Lucy of Hubbard, OH; Bob Lucy of Elgin, IL; and Lessie O’Bryant of Menifee, CA.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 am Monday, March 20, 2023 at Emerson Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Burial will be private.
