Carl Goforth, 67, a lifetime resident of Jonesboro, died Thursday, March 28, 2024, at NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born on July 29, 1956, in Jonesboro to Marvin and Maxine Goforth. He was of the Christian belief. He was the Owner/Operator of Goforth Gas Station and Wrecker Service. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing softball and being a member of a bowling league. Fishing was also a hobby. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old cars and trucks, getting them back in running condition. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Danny Goforth and Jerry Goforth, and one niece, Dione Goforth.
Survivors include his daughters, Pamela Welch and husband, Arland of Cave City; Carmen Tyler and husband, Matt, of Jonesboro; sister, Janet Conrey of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Hannah, Kristina, Braden, Austin Tyler and Jacob Tyler; two great grandchildren, Gatlin and Grady.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 1, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Albert Camp officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery with Randy Emerson, Charlie Emerson, Amber Book, Paula Carter, and Jason Hallmark serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Austin Tyler and Jacob Tyler. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.
