Louis Carl Elsperman, 77, of Jonesboro, died on Friday, May 10, 2024. He was born in Sikeston, Missouri on October 4, 1946. He lived in Jonesboro since 2019, moving here from East Alton, Illinois. He was a wood working craftsman and enjoyed making Fire Pistons. He was very active in reenactments, as a mountain man, for the periods from 1776 until 1840. He would set up at gun shows and sell his much-desired Fire Pistons (An early American device for starting fires, without matches). Camping was a family hobby. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was a very important part of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Mona.
Survivors include his wife, of 42 years, Kay Elsperman, of the home; sons, Caleb Elsperman and wife Jordan of Jonesboro; Terry Elsperman of Alton, Illinois; daughters, Cherie Elsperman of Alton, Illinois; Lisa Holt and husband Ron of Sefner, Florida; Robin Millard and husband, Shawn of Port Richie, Florida; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
