Carilla Jane Stogsdill, 76, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on February 24, 2026, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.
She was born on February 9, 1950, in the Strangers Home community to the late Earnest and Lunia Freeman. Carilla was a woman with a servant’s heart who found joy in caring for others. She loved reading, working in her yard, and sitting peacefully in her swing enjoying the simple blessings of life. If someone was sick or in need, Carilla was always there to help, no matter who they were. Her kindness and compassion touched countless lives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Stogsdill; her brothers and sisters, LJ Freeman, James Freeman, Corine Haskett, Earle Freeman, Burl Freeman, Virginia Barner, and Mary Sue Arnold.
She is survived by her five sons, Robert Stogsdill (Amanda) of Jonesboro, Alan Stogsdill of Springfield, Missouri, Cory Stogsdill of Little Rock, Cody Stogsdill of Little Rock, and Duane Dunham of Hoxie; one daughter, Tonya Westmorland of Jonesboro; two sisters, Hazel Cook of Dutton, Arkansas, and Mozel Frakes of Paragould; three grandchildren, Lily Stogsdill, Ashton Harrison, and Ethan Westmorland; one great-grandchild, Trystan Harrison; along with several nieces and nephews and a lifetime of dear friends.
Pallbearers will be Robert Stogsdill, Alan Stogsdill, Cory Stogsdill, Cody Stogsdill, Ethan Westmorland, Richie Lee, and Kenton Spicer. The service will be officiated by Bro. Bryce King.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
