Cappie Gardner, 70, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, Nov 25, 2006, at NEA Medical Center. She was born in Leachville, Arkansas and had lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and was president of the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gardner, her parents, Eddie and Bessie Brown and one grandchild.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law; Craig and Pam Gardner, Sheridan, Arkansas; Larry and Nona Emmons, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; one daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Mark Flemon of Jonesboro; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Judy Brown of Piggott and a sister Bernice Yancey, Van Nyes, California . Also surviving are eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and special friends, Bob and Alma Jean McDonald.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 26, 2006, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Reverend Edward Pruett officiating and burial to follow at Keller’s Chapel Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Tucker Housley, Rick McDaniel, Chuck Brown, Michael Flemon, Danny Flemon, and Chad Flemon. Honorary pallbearers are the members of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.
