C. W. Goad

C. W. Goad, 69, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at his home. He had lived in Jonesboro since 1989, moving here form Monticello, Arkansas. He retired as Sergeant First Class from the U. S. Army and was chosen the soldier/family of the year for Stars and Stripes in 1979. During his distinguished military career, he received many certificates, awards and metals. C. W. was preceded in death by his father, Wilford Goad; mother Zoe Passmore Goad; two brothers, Donald Goad, Dickie Goad and his sister-in-law Beverly Goad.

Survivors include his mom, Mary Ann Goad of Jonesboro; sons, Brian Goad (Diana) of Rockford, Tennessee; Jeffery Goad (Jennifer) of Warren, Arkansas; the mother of his children, May Goad of Wilmar, Arkansas; brothers, Gary Goad and Eugene Goad of Jonesboro; Rick Goad of Monticello; sisters, Zoe Lisa (Vincent) of Springhill, Tennessee; Judy Goad of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Chris Rose of Hensley; LaVera Burton (Pete) of Jonesboro; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A memorial graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, Arkansas. There will be no public visitation.
