C. Ray Sulfridge, 78 of Jonesboro died Saturday, December 31, 2005, at NEA Medical Center. He was born in Leslie Arkansas and had lived in Jonesboro since1952, moving here from Blytheville Arkansas. He was a member of Westside First Baptist Church at Greers Ferry and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
He worked for Southwestern Bell for 30 years and was a Southwestern Bell Telephone Pioneer. He was a member of the VFW and served as president of the Nettleton School Board. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict receiving the Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar & Edith Sulfridge.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January, 2, 2006 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Toombs and Van Harness officiating and burial to follow at Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Emerson Funeral Home.
