Burnis Miles Posey, Sr. passed from this life Thursday, March 1, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Jonesboro on October 11, 1943 to Burnis and Anita Miles Posey. He worked as a bank examiner and process server. Burnis was a Vice Commander of the American Legion of Arkansas, and he served veterans who came back home to get jobs. He worked on the Craighead county Veterans Memorial. Burnis was a bridge player at the Senior Center and he also had his cosmetology license. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter-in-law, Melanie Heath Posey.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Posey of the home; 4 sons, B.J. Posey of Jonesboro, Stephen Posey of Paragould, Chris (Marieta) Posey of Jonesboro and John-Michael Posey of Jonesboro. Brother, Barry Posey of Jonesboro and sister, Brenda Knight of Jonesboro. 8 grandchildren, Skylar, Caroline, Elizabeth, Katheryn, John Thomas, Yexler, Yavier, and Yeager.
Visitation will be at Emerson Memorial Chapel Monday, March 5, 2018 from 11:00am to 12:30pm with service starting at 12:30pm. Spencer Furby will be speaking. Burial will be at Herndon Cemetery.
Pallbearers are B.J. Posey, Jr., Chris Posey, Stephen Posey, John-Michael Posey, Drew Posey and Bryan Posey.
