Burney Ray Peeler

April 17, 1953 — October 24, 2020

Burney Ray Peeler, of Mammoth Spring, passed from this life October 24, 2020 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St.Louis, Missouri. He was born April 17, 1953 in Harrisburg, AR to the late Stanley and Elise Peeler of the Central community.

Burney was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jared Daniel Peeler.

Burney loved people, he was a hard worker but never sought after earthy riches.  His treasures were found in the love and company of family and friends, and he had many.  Burney was a carpenter by trade and was known far and wide for his ability to build or fix anything. Most importantly he used his skills to help many families and churches. Burney gave willingly of his most valuable possession, his time, he loved to sit for a spell and just visit and made strangers feel like friends, friends feel like family and family like his whole world.

Burney is survived by his wife Debbie Peeler of their home in Mammoth Spring; His son Brandon Peeler (Kyla) of Marble Hill, Missouri; his daughter-in-law Cathryn Peeler of Jonesboro; stepdaughters, Amanda Crawford (Mark) of Mammoth Spring; Shalyn Barton (Sam) of Couch, Missouri; Brittany Collins (Brent) of Mammoth Spring; four sisters, Susie Scott (Cliff) of Central; Alfrieda Holihan (Jerry) of Truman, Elaine Gibbs (Bill) of Central; Linda Madden (Larry) of Tyronza; grandchildren, Ava Grace, Tate, Ella Cate, Emmerson, Blain, Keaton, Hunter, Kadon, Sagan, Willow and Creek; nieces Collene Haney, Jennifer Shaw, Dodie Osment, Tammy Warren and Cresta Kain; nephew, Gregory Holihan as well as many other nieces and nephews.

A public viewing will be held Friday October 30 th 2020 from 9 am- 5 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri. Please note that no family will be present at that time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to The Gideons P.O. Box 97251 Washington, DC 20090-7251.

Please note that at the visitation and funeral, in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, the Chapel at Emerson Funeral Home will have a 150 person capacity. Masks will be required for entry and social distancing is encouraged.
