Bruce S. Roberts, 71, of Bay, died Monday morning, September 2, 2013, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
Born in Bernice, Louisiana, Bruce lived most of his life in the Jonesboro-Nettleton-Bay area and was a 1960 graduate of Nettleton High School. He worked many years in building construction and was a member of Bay First Baptist Church.
Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working. He was an expert craftsman and an avid Arkansas Razorback fan. Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Coy Roberts and a granddaughter, Mallory Kirksey.
Survivors include his wife, Ronda Roberts of the home;
His father, Aron Roberts of Jonesboro;
5 sons: Keith Roberts (Lisa) and Anthony Roberts (Gwen), all of Jonesboro, David Lawson (Kristie) of Florida, Eric Roberts (Camilla) of Bay and Marshall Roberts of the home;
1 daughter, Tracie Roberts of Jonesboro;
1 brother, Lance Roberts of Jonesboro;
10 grandchildren: Garrett Roberts (Michelle), Kyle Roberts, Cameron Roberts, Addison Roberts, Riley Roberts, Caleb Lawson, Connor Lawson, Jillian Roberts, Leilani Roberts and Scarlett Roberts; and
1 great grandchild, Rowan Roberts.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Danny Taylor and Myles Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.
Pallbearers include Anthony Roberts, Keith Roberts, Eric Roberts and Bruce’s grandsons.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
