Bruce Jones

Bruce Jones, 89 of Jonesboro, passed from this life Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born April 6, 1928 in Bay, AR to Edward O. Jones and Lillian Utley Jones. Most of his life was spent in Bay, then 14 years in Hardy before coming to Jonesboro. Bruce proudly served his country in the Korean War from October 1950 to 1952. He worked as a journeyman lineman most of his life and retired from Craighead Electric. Bruce was of the Baptist belief.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gladys Jones; his wife of 48 years, Mary Mizell Jones; 2 sisters, Dorothy Jones and Hazel Hale; 2 brothers, George Earl Jones and Edward Stanley “Buddy” Jones.

Survivors include: fiance’ Patricia Honey of Hardy; 2 daughters, Cleopatra Jones Simpson and husband Justin of Mellwood, AR; Kandy Jones Wall and husband Kelly of Jonesboro; 1 sister, Betty Sue Thomas of Dover, FL; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Emerson Funeral Home.

The service will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:30AM at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Mark Ollenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Adam Fletcher, Eric Fletcher, Ryan Mounce, Keith Arnoult, Rodney Wall and Kelly Wall.
