Brooks Thomas Ryals

Brooks Thomas Ryals, 60, of Jonesboro passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born May 25, 1958 in Jackson, Tennessee. Brooks was a member of First Christian Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Nettleton High School. Brooks was also a 1980 graduate from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology.

He worked in Parks Service for several years at different parks. Brooks was a Boy Scout in his younger years and developed a love for nature. He loved being outdoors, going camping, hiking, searching creeks for gem stones and dirt biking.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Carroll Ryals; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ingraham and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ryals.

Survivors include his mother, Jane Ingraham Ryals of Jonesboro; daughter, Meri Brooks Stratton of Alexander; cousins, Dr. Carol Lynn of Collierville, Tennessee and Dr. Robert Ingraham of Rapid City, South Dakota and numerous other beloved family and friends.

Memorial service will be Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home with Randy Stimach and Don Martin officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
