Mrs. Brinda Joyce Jackson Hurst departed this life on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at her home. Brinda was born on September 21, 1949, in Etowah, AR to Albert and Covia (Loftin) Jackson. Shortly after, the family moved to Grubbs, AR where Brinda attended Grubbs School District from elementary through high school graduation. Brinda then went on to obtain her AA at Williams Baptist College, her BA at Ouachita Baptist University, and her Master of Education at Arkansas State University. Followed by 28 years of Elementary Public Education.
Brinda married the love of her life, Glen Dale Hurst, on June 6, 1969. Together they spent 56 years of life and love. Brinda was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading cookbooks. She could often be found in the kitchen experimenting with a new recipe. Brinda was a devout Christian who proudly lived as a minister’s wife, supporting her husband in his service to the Lord throughout their marriage.
Brinda is survived by her husband, Glen Hurst; one sister, Anna Obbards and her husband Steve; one niece, Deanna McDougal and husband Glenn; one great nephew, Michael Ray Bryant Jr. and wife Angela; and one great-great niece, Sadie Grace Bryant.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, at Corners Chapel Baptist Church in Payneway from 1:00PM till the start of the Funeral Service at 2:00PM. Burial will follow at Clark Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers are: Glen Gillis, Steve Tacker, Larry Ray, J.P. Woods, Johnny Bell, and Ewel Watson. Honorary Pallbearers are Ray Cook and Bobby Smith.
