Bridget Nicole (Gambill) Guntharp, 44, went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 15, 2026, after a lifelong journey with cystic fibrosis. She was born on May 16, 1981, to the late Alan and Catherine Gambill in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where she resided until her passing. She was raised by her father with the support and strong influence of his mother, Hazel Gambill.

Bridget had fond memories of many afternoons spent with friends and cousins at her grandmother’s house. After her father’s passing in 1996, her Uncle Doug and Aunt Charlotte McArthur took her in and provided for her.

She graduated from Valley View High School in 1999 and later that year met the love of her life, Josh Guntharp. They were married on October 21, 2000, at Fairview Baptist Church, the same church where she dedicated her life to the Lord and followed in baptism as a young girl. On October 3, 2001, Josh and Bridget welcomed their son, and greatest joy, Joshua DaWayne Guntharp, into the world.

Bridget was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis on February 14, 2002 — an unusual occurrence, as the disease is typically discovered in childhood. Life expectancy at the time was the mid-30s. From the beginning, she was determined to defy the odds, and she did so with a strength that few possess. She carried herself through life with an immense sense of faith, family, and fight.

She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro and volunteered for many years with their AWANA program, where she loved sharing her passion for Christ with children. She was also an active member of the church’s sewing group, Tabitha Sews. She enjoyed her time with them, learning to sew and using the items they made to minister to others. She had a heart full of compassion for those around her.

She also spent much of her time volunteering at Westside Schools with many of their parent organizations while her son, Josh, was a student there. She enjoyed supporting the students, teachers, and staff in any way she could.

Bridget loved her family — human and fur babies alike. She had a gracious and generous spirit, an appreciation for the little things in life, always put others’ needs before her own, and always strove to make the most of every day she was given. Every soul who knew her was blessed by her presence.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Hazel Gambill; maternal grandmother, Katherine DeWitt; paternal uncle, Paul Duane Gambill (“Uncle Chucky Baby”); and an angel baby she never had the chance to hold.

She is survived by her husband, son, extended family, loved ones, and countless friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, at Emerson Memorial Chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.

She wished to be surrounded by beautiful flowers, but for those who desire to make a charitable donation in her honor, Bridget requested they be made to Tabitha Sews of Walnut Street Baptist Church or the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society of Jonesboro.
