Brice Childress Moore, Jr., 79, of Jonesboro, passed away on May 30, 2025 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born on February 11, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to Brice Moore, Sr. and Dorothy Mann Moore.
Brice lived in Jonesboro for the last three years, moving here from Memphis, Tennessee, where he spent most of his life. He was a 1964 graduate from Whitehaven High School in Memphis and obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Memphis. Brice was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
A proud American, Brice felt called to serve his country in the United States Air Force, retiring at the rank of Major. Brice was a flight commander at an officer training school, training and instructing young officers. He was a humble man that didn’t speak often of his heroism during the Vietnam War. Recently his family discovered that during the conflict in Vietnam, Brice flew helicopters rescuing injured soldiers and no doubt saving countless lives.
In his spare time, Brice enjoyed woodworking and especially found joy in creating birdhouses and dollhouses.
Brice was preceded in death by his parents, Brice Moore, Sr. and Dorothy Mann Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Moore of Jonesboro; daughter, Lindsey Eason of Memphis; granddaughters, Emmie Eason, Hailey Eason, and Abbie Eason; three great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Gray of Boston; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations please be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 701 S Main St. Jonesboro, AR 72401.
