Brenda Downs Summers

Brenda Downs Summers, 67, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Sunday June 26, 2016 at her home. She was born in Jonesboro on February 9, 1949 to the late Robert and Nellie Saunders Downs. Brenda had lived in Jonesboro for 26 years, moving here from Harrisburg and was a retired Teacher/Educator Librarian for the Trumann Public School. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Benita Smith.

Survivors include her husband Keith Summers of the home.
Sisters, Roberta Guziewicz (Joe) of Rogers, Arkansas and Melba McElyea of San Diego, California.

Nieces, Kara Brandon (Phillip) and Courtney Martin (Michael).
Great-nieces, Valarie, Zoe, Elena, Hannah, Ryley and Abbie.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday June 30, 2016 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jim Hillyer officiating. Burial will be at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Graham Coveney, Ron Melton, Jackie Dotson, Bobby Bishop, Larry Earnheart and Lynn Nicholas.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Timms.
