Brenda Marie Reeves Jeffries, 81, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She had lived in Jonesboro since 1963, moving here from California. She was born in Woodruff County, Arkansas, to Luther “Duzom” and Bonnie Belle Reeves. Brenda was a member of Nettleton Church of Christ Church. She was the owner/operator of Jeffries Tax Service. She was a great cook, but according to her family her best dishes were chicken-n-dressing and chicken-n-dumplings. Another truth, according to her family is she never met a baby she didn’t like and was often called “Aunt Grandma”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Tommy, Pete, and Bobby; sisters: Sharon and Tanna.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Charles Jeffries, of the home; daughter, Peggy Jeffries; Elizabeth “Liz” Jeffries; sister, Kathy Reeves all of Jonesboro; nephew/son, Steven Reeves of Jonesboro; special sister-in-law, Eula Storey of Lawrenceville, Georgia; grandchildren, Daisy Blossom, Molly, and Beau; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A private burial will be held later that day. Visitation will be on Monday night, September 15, 2025, at Emerson Memorial Chapel from 5-7.
