Brenda Kay Harmon, 74, of Jonesboro, passed away August 26, 2024 at her home. She was born March 29, 1950 in Manila to Earl Pearson and Dessie Needham Pearson.
She grew up in Cardwell, Missouri and graduated from Southland High School in 1969. Brenda then moved to Lake City where she lived until she moved to Jonesboro in 1989.
Brenda loved being outside and found solace in the beauty of nature. She spent time traveling, making frequent trips to Seattle to visit her grandchildren. Brenda adored spending time with family, especially her precious grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her daughter, Carrie Sims and sister, Linda Edwards.
Survivors include her husband, Jay Harmon of Jonesboro; daughters, Ashley Harmon of Seattle, Washington and Amber Jay Harmon and husband, Luke Goodrich, of Seattle, Washington; son, Christopher “Jake” Sims of Jacksonville; sisters, Carline Grady and husband, Harold, of Sherwood and Ricky Davis of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Maxwell and Henry Harmon Morrison of Seattle, Washington; nephew, Michael Walker of Jonesboro; niece, Lisa Miller of St. Louis, Missouri; and best friend, Rita Bruner of Jonesboro.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
