Brenda J. Barker

Brenda J. Barker, 66, of Jonesboro passed away on June, 18, 2016 at Craighead Nursing Center.

Brenda was born on November 21, 1949 in Bowman to the late Lenard L and Lillian L. Doss James. She was a homemaker, and of the Baptist Belief. She was known for great cooking, her passion for life, and her willingness to give to others. No matter what life threw at Brenda she was always able to face it with cheerfulness and great attitude and that was true blessing to anyone that knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Barker, one brother Charles L. James, nephew, Eddie Cummings; and brother in law, Charlie Luster.

She is survived by her daughter, Holly Barker of Marshall; three sisters, Barbara Cummings (Rudy), Becky Locke (Gary), and Penny Luster all of Jonesboro; nephews, Luke Luster ( Savannah), Stephen Locke (Judi), all of Jonesboro, and Andy Locke ( Lindsey) of Hernando, MS, and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside service will be Wednesday morning at 11:30am in Nettleton Cemetery with Rick Clark officiating. Bagpipes will be played by her nephew Luke Luster from the Jonesboro Fire Departments Honor Guard Pipes and Drums.

Visitation will be from 10-11am on Wednesday at Emerson Funeral Home.
